Sept 14-16th lessons/homeworks

Weds Sept 14:
P1: Take a medical form to return completed TOMORROW!!!
HWK from yesterday: each have own blog on screen
TASK: You will be assigned a 2010-11 AS blog to examine. Your task is to create a new blog post with 10 points taken from 10 different posts on that blog, including a hyperlink to the original blog post on that student's 2010-11 blog. You're looking to make 10 points on things you've learned from reading/viewing/clicking hyperlinks on their blogs, things such as: the conventions/history of the horror genre; things that went wrong for that group; whats involved in the process of creating AS Media coursework; points on audience, representation, media language (shots used, editing etc), casting, costume, props, SFX, how they got audience feedback, new media/digitisation and how they used it, distribution...
Call this post Exploring a Past Student's Blog, and start this with 'I looked at Name Name's blog', making the name into a hyperlink to their blog
Once you've completed this and published your post, go around the room and find out 1 more fact from each other student's post, and add these to yours. We will then discuss how such a task could be done more quickly next time...

HWKS: FOR THURS: Find ONE horror poster online and add to a new blog post called Horror Poster Analysis. (copy/paste in the following description of your task) Describe and discuss the type of shot/s used (why was the particular shot type chosen do you think), AND pick out any clues or pointers you can see which tell us that this is promoting a horror film. (Try your best; we haven't yet learned much of the 'media language' used)
FOR THURS:  bring in film fest workshop money
FOR THURS:bring in completed medical form
FOR FRI: Watch any 2010-11 AS coursework final cut (you can see them all here) and list the first 10 shots after the company idents, including some description of relevant detail such as costume, location, props etc. Explain why you think these shots were selected and whether you think they work well to communicate the plot/narrative to the audience. [Write this up on a blog post called: Analysis of a 2011 AS production. Copy/paste the details of the homework task at the top of this post]
